THEO Staghorn Fern Plaque
THEO Staghorn Fern Plaque
Staghorn Ferns get their name from the large, bifurcated, antler-like fronds that shoot out dramatically from the center of the plant. These plants are ephiphytes, growing naturally in the crooks of trees, which makes them an ideal candidate for mounting, as they require little root space to thrive.
These Staghorn Ferns are mounted to a diamond-shaped board with sphagnum moss and a built-in hook which makes them easy to hang in any well-lit room.
Small: board measures approx. 7.5"x7.5"
Large: board measures approx. 12" x 12"
Care Instructions
Staghorn Ferns like to be kept evenly moist but not soaking wet. These ferns are considered "Epiphytes" which usually have aerial roots and produce their own food by photosynthesis. What does this mean?
They do not need soil to grow or thrive as they root themselves onto a host and basically just hang out.
A great way to water these is to bring them into the shower with you once a week and spraying them down. Let the remaining water dry out and hang back up in your home.
